Pre-Filter / Dust Protection for 5 x 7″ Air Filter

The pre-filter was developed to prevent larger particles such as rubber, dirt and sand from getting into the pleats of the air filter elements and clogging them.
Premature clogging of an air filter leads to a loss of performance and a reduction in maintenance intervals. JLT pre-filters are designed to protect your engine without compromising airflow or performance.
Particles as small as 0.005″ are filtered out, extending the life of the filter. Even in harsh conditions, including high humidity, a JLT pre-filter improves your filter's ability to maintain the airflow needed for maximum performance. Proper use of a pre-filter saves money on cleaning or replacing the filter and extends its life.

Using the JLT pre-filter does not lead to a significant reduction in airflow. Most performance air filters allow more air through than the engine can actually handle. In fact, the pre-filter keeps your primary filter cleaner for longer and allows your engine to maintain its original airflow and performance over a longer period of time.
