After a lot of thinking, comparing and searching, I decided on this camshaft and don't regret it for a second. The sound is awesome, like an old American V8. Pretty shabby.
We did the installation ourselves and then took the car to Kraftwerk for software tuning. The engine doesn't run at all without software, so that's absolutely necessary. It jerks a bit when coasting at idle - this is due to the rough idle. The car really shakes at the traffic lights. As soon as you drive normally, everything is great. Definitely not for a BMW straight-six driver, but a real American fan's heart will warm.
I think if I put a slightly louder exhaust on it, it will come across even better.
