BORLA S-Type 140838CF High Performance Exhaust System with Carbon Tailpipes for Chevrolet Corvette C8

The deep, beefy sound is louder than the standard exhaust system of the Corvette C8 and enhances the character of the engine.
This is not permitted, but the sound is not so loud that there are bound to be problems.

The S-Type exhaust system is the middle of the three Borla sound variants.

During the development of this exhaust system, the gas-dynamic and fluidic design came first, followed by the sound engineering.
Through this elaborate approach, rarely practised in the industry, power and torque are not sacrificed for sound, but harmoniously matched.
That is Borla's special achievement. It is not always recognisable at first glance - but that makes the big difference between mediocrity and technical brilliance.

With many other exhaust systems, the development costs are kept low and attention is paid only to the sound. As a result, these systems often sound good but result in a loss of power and therefore do not really deserve the designation "sports exhaust".

You should be aware of this. With this knowledge, an informed decision can be made for or against a particular sports exhaust system.

Borla exhaust systems are manufactured from high-alloy T304 series stainless steels according to the American AISI standard.

Developing exhaust systems for the C8 Corvette presented unique challenges for the BORLA® engineers, but the team was up to the challenge. Great care was taken to ensure the functionality and reliability of the system as well as the vehicle itself.
Part number 140838 covers both AFM and NPP dual mode exhaust valves.
The S-Type sound level delivers an aggressive yet balanced sound with a deep tone. This exhaust offers a more exciting driving experience without the drone. It features our Polyphonic Harmonizer and SwitchFire™ technology.
BORLA®'s Polyphonic Harmonizer Technology uses patented units that contain tubes of different diameters and lengths to create multiple exhaust tones that harmonise with each other to deliver a clean, rich and full sound.
BORLA®'s patented SwitchFire™ design eliminates the middle, turbulent intersection of a standard X-pipe and combines combustion pulses from both sides of the engine for improved performance and custom sound.
An intelligently placed heat shield prevents heat damage to the exhaust and protects your Corvette.
The exhaust system comes with 4-inch carbon tips with bright core elements and is also available in Bright Chrome on T-304 stainless steel tips (part number 140838) or Black Chrome on T-304 stainless steel tips (part number 140838BC).
The sports exhaust system is made of T-304 stainless steel.
The system is delivered in 2 boxes.

Note: After installing the BORLA® system, the control units for the AFM and NPP valves in the exhaust system should be recalibrated according to GM document ID 5406413. BORLA® recommends that you take your vehicle to your nearest Chevrolet dealer to have the exhaust valves recalibrated.
