The deep, beefy sound is louder than the standard Chevrolet Camaro SS exhaust system and enhances the character of the engine.
This is not permitted, but the sound is not so loud that there are bound to be problems.
The S-Type exhaust system is the middle of the three Borla sound variants.
During the development of this exhaust system, the gas-dynamic and fluidic design came first, followed by the sound engineering.
Through this elaborate approach, rarely practised in the industry, power and torque are not sacrificed for sound, but harmoniously matched.
That is Borla's special achievement. It is not always recognisable at first glance - but that makes the big difference between mediocrity and technical brilliance.
With many other exhaust systems, the development costs are kept low and attention is paid only to the sound. As a result, these systems often sound good but result in a loss of power and therefore do not really deserve the designation "sports exhaust".
You should be aware of this. With this knowledge, an informed decision can be made for or against a particular sports exhaust system.

Important note for vehicles with cylinder deactivation:
Due to cylinder deactivation, the sound in 4-cylinder mode is often perceived as "inappropriate" in conjunction with a sports exhaust (regardless of the manufacturer).
We can remedy this by electronically deactivating the cylinder deactivation.
The vehicle then always runs on all 8 cylinders and has the desired V8 sound permanently.
