BORLA S-Type Axle-Back High Performance Exhaust System for Chevrolet Camaro SS from 2016 to 2023 with NPP (Dual Mode Exhaust)
The NPP function is retained
The deep, beefy sound is louder than the standard exhaust system of the Chevrolet Camaro SS and enhances the character of the engine.
Although this is not permitted, the sound is not so loud that it is bound to cause problems.
The S-Type exhaust system is the middle of the three Borla sound variants.
When developing this exhaust system, the gas dynamic and flow design was the top priority, followed by the sound engineering.
This complex approach, which is rarely practiced in the industry, means that power and torque are not sacrificed for the sound, but rather harmoniously coordinated with each other.
This is Borla’s special achievement. It's not always obvious at first glance - but that's what makes the big difference between mediocrity and technical brilliance.
With many other exhaust systems, development costs are kept low and attention is only paid to the sound. As a result, these systems often sound good, but result in a loss of performance and therefore do not actually deserve the name “sports exhaust”.
You should be aware of this. With this knowledge, you can make an informed decision for or against a particular sports exhaust system.
Borla sports exhaust systems are made from high-alloy stainless steels of the T304 series according to the American AISI standard.
Exhaust type | Axle back |
Pipe diameter | 2.75 inches by 2x 2.25 inches |
tailpipe | Dual Round Rolled Angle Cut |
Important note for vehicles with cylinder deactivation:
Due to cylinder deactivation, the sound in 4-cylinder mode in conjunction with a sports exhaust (regardless of the manufacturer) is often perceived as “unsuitable”.
We can fix this by electronically disabling the cylinder deactivation.
The vehicle then always runs on all 8 cylinders and permanently has the desired V8 sound.
