Description

Hawk Performance DTC-70 High Performance Brake Pads HB649U.605 for Dodge Challenger SRT & Hellcat (Front Axle)

Hawk's DTC-70 racing compound has been developed to provide an extremely high deceleration rate and very aggressive initial bite for high deceleration vehicles, with or without downforce.

The DTC-70 brake pad for the Dodge Challenger is not an entry level racing compound and should not be driven on the street. Only use it if you are a serious racer with track experience and have had problems with less aggressive compounds that overheat or don't provide enough bite.

Break-In Instructions

Break-In Instructions

Hawk brake pad installation procedure

  • Install the brake pads correctly. Ensure that the brake pads are securely seated in the brake calliper.
  • Flush the system with fresh brake fluid.
  • Check all hydraulic parts for excessive wear and tear.
  • Check the brake disc for correct thickness, parallelism and lateral concentricity.
  • Check the brake disc for scoring or grooves with a depth of more than 0.3 mm.
  • If both apply, you must renew or replace the disc.
  • If the disc does not need to be replaced, the dirt from the previous brake pads must be removed. Sand the discs with sandpaper at moderate pressure. Clean the disc surface with soap and water after sanding and finishing.
  • The discs should be free of oil, grease and brake fluid.
  • Check the brake callipers for freedom of movement. Lubricate them if necessary.

Hawk brake pad embedding - road mixtures

  • Brake 6-10 times from approx. 50-55 km/h to 10 km/h and apply moderate pressure. Do not come to a standstill.
  • Carry out a further 2 to 3 harder braking manoeuvres of approx. 65-70 km/h until the vehicle comes to a standstill.
  • DO NOT STAND ON THE BRAKES! (Do not leave your foot on the brake pedal after stopping).
  • Allow the brake system to cool down for 15 minutes or longer.
  • Your new Hawk rubbers are now ready for use.
