Hawk HPS (High Performance Street) brake pads are known worldwide for increasing the braking power of your Dodge RAM. With the Hawk Performance HPS brake pad compound, you can easily improve the performance of your vehicle's braking system.
This unique ferro-carbon formula was developed for road use and utilizes the safety and quality of heavy-duty friction technology from the aerospace and motorsport industries.
The High Performance Street compound offers a higher coefficient of friction than standard brake pads and can give you 20 to 40 % more stopping power and greater resistance to brake fade than most standard replacement pads. Less fade means you get an extremely durable brake pad with less brake dust.

Recommendation

In most cases, the Hawk HPS compound ensures a higher braking torque and a higher operating temperature compared to OEM brake pads. It also generates less brake dust.
With an upper operating temperature of 430-480°C, the HPS compound can withstand light track use as long as you watch for signs of overheating and allow adequate cooling time when the brake pads reach their upper temperature.
The Hawk HPS compound is not a racing compound and cannot withstand prolonged racing at high temperatures.
As far as brake dust is concerned, the HPS compound is cleaner than your OEM brake pads, but generates more dust than the Hawk Ceramic compound. The increase in performance compared to Hawk Ceramic comes at the expense of increased dust generation.
