How does the system work?

When crankcase pressure is vented through the intake tract, large amounts of oil in the form of vapours are directed into the intake manifold and intake manifolds and even dilute the petrol, lowering the octane rating.
This happens in all engines and is even more pronounced in vehicles with forced induction (superchargers and turbochargers) as the crankcase pressure is increased.
To counteract this, an oil separator with its own design was developed.
Machined from solid billet aluminium, it is a rock solid piece. It has a knurled reservoir bottom that makes it easy to drain the used oil and an O-ring seal that prevents leaks.

The filtration consists of a fine-mesh stainless steel screen that catches fine oil vapours and releases them as soon as they are heavy enough to fall.
They are then passed through a 1/2″ thick 1/16″ aluminium honeycomb filter where they grow larger and larger and eventually drop down into the tank.
When the oil passes through the filter, it is too heavy to be passed on to the intake tract.
The collection container holds 90 ml of liquid. That may not sound like much, but you should not find that much oil in your PCV system.
