JXB repair kit for the propshaft bearing of the Chrysler 300C, Dodge Challenger and Charger from 2015 to 2023
The standard center bearing carrier holds the prop shaft in place with a thin layer of rubber. While this is great for making sure no annoying noise gets into the passenger compartment, it doesn't keep the bearing well centered under load, allows the bearing to sag, degrades propshaft alignment over time, and causes driveline shocks when shifting and accelerating.
Over time, the OEM bushing becomes brittle and can eventually become brittle and crack. Even in perfectly maintained cars, the original bushing can crack after just 5-10 years.
If the bushing wears and gives way, it changes the alignment of the drive shaft and puts more stress on the joints. If the drive shaft is loaded quickly (starts, gear changes and rapid acceleration), the bearing can run off-center, causing the drivetrain to sag, resulting in a delayed and unpredictable response from the drivetrain.
This improved driveshaft carrier from JXB keeps the driveshaft firmly in place at all times. The more solid bushings ensure that the bearing cannot get off center, ensuring torque delivery and driveshaft alignment at all times, resulting in a more direct drivetrain response in all conditions.
- Reduces the sagging of the drivetrain
- Restores and maintains the alignment of the drive shaft
- Installation without removing or dismantling the drive shaft
- Suitable for all Charger/Challenger/300 from 2015 to 2023
- Suitable for RWD and AWD
- Suitable for V6 and V8
- Suitable for automatic and manual transmissions
The advantages of the JXB repair kit described by our customers include
- More direct response of the gas pedal pedal
- Tighter, more direct gear changes
- More direct acceleration
- Reduced vibrations due to misalignment of the drive shaft and/or rubber wear
- Smoother behavior when changing loads at low speeds (1st gear in parking lots)
Difference between Street and Track
Street and Track refer to the stiffness of the bushings.
- Track sockets have about twice the hardness of street bushes. Both track and street bushes are many times stiffer than the original bushes and can withstand any load.
- Street sockets are better at absorbing drivetrain noise and vibration. Normally, both road and track bushings are completely silent and vibration-free, but in cases where there is a problem with the drivetrain that causes severe driveshaft vibration, the track bushings may not be able to absorb it all, while the road bushings can.
In general, we recommend street bushings for all vehicles that are not specifically built for track or off-road use, as the bushings are much less likely to transmit noise and vibrations to the interior at high speeds or under heavy acceleration.
If you're not sure which bushings to choose, the "Give me both" option gives you a complete set of bushings for both road and track use. You can use all the bushings for road or track use or even mix them to find the perfect balance between performance and damping characteristics.
