Original Mopar release mechanism
The parking release is also known as “ Pinky ” and “ Pink Thingy ” because the original part was pink.
If the selector lever of the automatic transmission can no longer be moved out of the “P” position or no gears can be selected, a plastic part in the shift module has often broken off. The workshop usually replaces the entire switching module.
Experience has shown that this defect most often occurs when it is very warm for the first time after winter or the vehicle has been exposed to extreme sunlight.
This replacement part fixes the problem.
