Thermal intake bridges - insulation 6.1 SRT8
This set thermally decouples the intake manifold from the cylinder heads.
It replaces the original intake manifold gaskets.
The thermal decoupling reduces the heating of the aluminum intake manifold of the 6.1 SRT engine, especially when stationary and at slow speeds.
The warmer the intake air is, the more the engine control unit reduces the ignition, which means a loss of power.
This is minimized by the cooler intake air.
Thermalnator is a unique high temperature shielding gasket that replaces the stock intake manifold gasket. Thermalnator's cooling properties reduce heat by preventing metal-to-metal contact between the intake manifold and the engine block. By using a Thermalnator gasket, the heat of the air entering the engine is reduced, resulting in a power increase of up to 5%.
Thermalnator gaskets enable the intake manifold to act like an intercooler. Since the manifold is no longer heated by the cylinder head, the heat of the incoming air can be dissipated very quickly through the aluminum. The basic formula for this is that the air density decreases by 1 % for every 5 degree increase in intake air temperature. The denser the air, the greater the increase in performance.
Average tests have shown a drop of 25 degrees F and up to 35 degrees in some applications. For this reason, a Thermalnator gasket is an excellent upgrade for your vehicle, whether it is stock or modified.
