TranZformer Gen 1 for Chrysler 300C, Dodge Challenger, Charger and Magnum
Adjust the shifting behavior of your NAG1 gearbox to suit your requirements.
With the TranZformer from Z Automotive, you have the option of individually adjusting the shifting intensity to your driving style or current driving situation - and also using numerous other functions.
Installation takes just a few minutes. The device is connected to eight cables via cable taps, all of which are located behind the lower cover of the steering column - completely concealed and inconspicuous.
After installation, the TranZformer adjusts the transmission parameters to create a characteristic shifting behavior in the style of classic muscle cars. Whether powerful, noticeable gear changes with tire squeal or a subtle boost for towing or sporty driving - you have full control. The setting is made via the control buttons on the steering wheel and the EVIC display (or via the cruise control lever on vehicles without EVIC), allowing you to adjust the shift characteristics at any time while driving.
Alternatively, you can connect the device to a Windows PC via USB cable and use the Z Automotive Programming Utility (ZPU) to carry out a precise configuration - including individual shift gain values (0 to 100 %) for each gear when shifting up and down in "Drive" and "AutoStick" modes. In addition, the delay when changing to forward or reverse gear is reduced. It is also possible to scale the shift intensity depending on the accelerator pedal position.
In addition, the TranZformer allows the adaptive learning function of the transmission control module (TCM) to be reset or permanently deactivated so that the set shift intensity is permanently retained.
Function overview:
- Steering wheel-based gear selection (Steering Wheel Shifting - SWS):
Enables manual gear selection via the volume and side buttons on the steering wheel while your hands remain on the wheel. This function is activated as soon as the vehicle is in AutoStick mode and can be activated or deactivated at any time using the steering wheel buttons. - Automatic upshift (AutoUpshift):
Define individual speed limits for automatic gear changes in AutoStick mode - ideal for high-revving engines in racetrack operation. This function can be configured via the cruise control lever or via the ZPU. Particularly suitable in combination with Mopar Performance TCMs or DiabloSport tuners. - Line-Lock mode:
By pressing the cruise control lever when stationary with AutoStick mode activated, the front brakes are held via the ABS valves. This allows a controlled burnout to be performed at full throttle. The vehicle only moves when the lever is released. - Burnout mode:
Pulling the cruise control lever activates the front brake via the ABS pump to also enable burnouts - without prior manual braking. - Launch mode:
Pulling the main beam lever while stationary activates all four brakes via the ABS system to enable an optimum start (launch). - Speed display:
Displays the actual engine speed after each shift - particularly useful for fine-tuning the AutoUpshift behavior or analyzing manual gear changes. - 0-30 km/h and 0-60 km/h acceleration measurement:
Shows corresponding acceleration times directly in the EVIC display. - 1/8-mile and 1/4-mile times:
Enables the display of acceleration times over these distances in the EVIC. - Transmission oil temperature indicator:
Displays the current transmission temperature in the EVIC - an external diagnostic device is no longer required for oil changes. - Status display of the gearbox:
Displays the gear currently engaged and the status of the torque converter clutch. - ESP control:
Enables manual resetting and activation of the ESP system - ideal for vehicles with deactivated ESP or corresponding modifications. - Reset adaptive learning behavior:
The adaptive learning behavior of the TCM can be reset at any time by simply pulling the cruise control and high beam lever. - Deactivate adaptive learning behavior (Kill Adaptives):
Prevents the transmission control unit from softening the shifting behavior over time. This function can be activated or deactivated at any time. - Clear fault memory (Check Engine Light Reset)*:
In the event of frequent error messages triggered by modifications, the check engine light (CEL) including error codes can be conveniently reset via the EVIC. - MDS display (only for model years 2005-2007)*:
Activates the safety light as an indicator for an active MDS system (Multi-Displacement System) - can be switched on via the EVIC. - Additional output (Auxiliary Output)*:
An AUX connection can be activated via a combination of cruise control lever and side buttons on the steering wheel to control external devices such as flap exhausts, NOS systems or media switches.
