Z Locker OEM – repair module for defective limited slip differential sensor
Developed in collaboration with America's Most Wanted 4X4.
The lock sensor in the Wrangler JL and Gladiator Rubicons has started to become problematic. When it fails, it usually starts with a flashing loose light on the dashboard, which then ends with the message “Service axle loose.” Once the limited slip differential system is in this fault condition, the locks will no longer engage.
The repair would normally involve replacing the sensor, but the part is not available separately. The next best solution would be to replace the axle lock, but this is also not available. The current solution is to replace the entire axle assembly. However, because this problem occurs very frequently, these parts are on backorder across the country.
The Z-Locker OEM solves this problem. It bypasses the problematic sensor and allows the lock mechanism to operate without the position sensor while still providing the proper feedback to the Jeep's ECUs to keep the system operational without errors or warnings. With the Z-Locker-OEM the full functionality of the system is restored.
Installation is simple: unplug the locker and connect the Z-Locker OEM between the axle and the Jeep wiring harness. This can be done in seconds and without tools. The Jeep's ECU is not affected - it uses the same signals it expects from the sensor. The plugs are the same as those used by Jeep and are waterproof.
The package includes a Z-Locker OEM to repair a broken axle lock.
