Fail-safe 95 degree cooling water thermostat, same temperature as the standard thermostat
Fail-Safe thermostats offer premium, patented technology for better protection than any other thermostat on the market.
When standard thermostats fail, they lock in the closed position and prevent the flow of coolant to the engine, potentially causing severe damage by overheating your engine.
The Fail-Safe thermostat is designed to lock in the open position if overheating occurs due to a faulty cooling system component. This allows maximum coolant flow, preventing expensive engine damage.

Fail-Safe thermostats are equipped with a unique additional stroke that enables operation in two stages:
- Stage 1: Within normal operating temperatures, the Fail-Safe works like any other thermostat.
- Stage 2: If the engine overheats due to a faulty cooling system part, the Fail-Safe has a secondary stroke that activates a precision-engineered piston that automatically locks the valve in a wide-open position, allowing the coolant to circulate freely.
Note: Once the Fail-Safe thermostat is locked in the open position, it must be replaced and can no longer be used.
