Description

Dual fuel pump system for Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcat

The Dodge Hellcat is one of the most modified US vehicles sold today.
Test bench tests have shown that an upgrade of the OEM single-pump fuel system is required if the engine output is to exceed approx. 850 hp.
Until now, your options have been limited to fuel pump "boosters" and accessory dual pump setups that eliminate the stock fuel pump control module and surge tank ("fuel basket").

These options are suboptimal and potentially dangerous for the durability of your engine.

The Hellcat 6.2L supercharged engine has a highly developed engine control system (PCM). It uses wideband lambda sensors to continuously monitor and adjust the fuel/air ratio, even at full throttle. This is achieved, among other things, by controlling the fuel pressure at the engine's fuel lines.
The PCM measures the actual rail pressure and adjusts the speed of the fuel pump to maintain the target pressure.
In all current fuel pump boosters and double and triple pump systems, the PWM fuel pump control module is omitted and the pump(s) are simply operated with a fixed voltage. This eliminates an important control element, which restricts the tuner's ability to correctly tune to the new modifications. This leads to a deterioration in driving behavior and, in extreme cases, to damage to the engine.

This fuel system can be integrated into the OEM fuel management system. It increases capacity but retains all PCM fuel control functions, enabling correct engine calibration.
The plug-and-play wiring harness is easy to install and does not differ from the standard wiring harness of your Hellcat. Only two wires need to be tapped (FCM and fuel pump relay signals), the signal cables of the level sensor are reconnected and everything else is connected to the standard connections.

Another problem with all other solutions currently available is the omission of the OEM fuel pump expansion tank, often referred to as the "fuel pump basket".
This can be thought of as a "tank within a tank". The fuel pump is installed in a "basket" that is fully submerged in the fuel tank. Its purpose is to maintain a steady supply of fuel around the pump (for cooling) and the pump inlet to ensure that the pump does not "run dry".
These turbine pumps rely on a fuel "load" to prevent overspeeding and resulting damage to the pump. Your engine also does not like short-term fuel shortages.
Our system includes the standard expansion tank and eliminates these problems.

A widespread myth that should be dispelled here is that the standard expansion tank (fuel basket) cannot keep up with the twin pumps. This is simply not true. The tank (basket) is filled with a jet pump driven by the electric pumps; it fills in direct proportion to the mass of fuel being driven into the primary pipe system. Note that the Demon and Redeye have a factory dual pump system with the same fuel capacity in the expansion tank as the Hellcat.

This system can usually be installed in less than two hours. Everything you need is included in the scope of delivery, along with detailed instructions.

Functions:

  • 2 Ti Automotive F90000285 turbine pumps as standard.
  • 2 Ti Automotive F90000295 available as an upgrade. (Please note that the Ti-295 does not have a backstop and can lead to longer starting times.
  • Fully E85 compatible.
  • Can be seamlessly integrated into the standard fuel system and control unit.
  • Installation in the vehicle's OEM surge tank (fuel basket) to keep the pumps cool and prevent over-revving.
  • Billet version made from 6061-T6.
  • Plug-and-play wiring harness and PWM controller included.
  • The Ti-285 system has proven on the dyno to support over 1100 RWHP on E85, 1200+ on gasoline; the Ti-295 system has delivered over 1250 RWHP on E85 with twin turbos.
